Learning Lotus Academy

At Learning Lotus we provide individualized education by combining Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) with a customized curriculum using IXL, Starfall and Khan Academy. This approach ensures that each student’s academic and behavioral needs are met, fostering both growth and success.

Our Approach

A Collaborative Environment

Ongoing Monitoring

Our educational approach integrates the IXL Core Curriculum, meets Florida standards for education grades K-12. IXL offers personalized learning paths across subjects such as math, language arts, science, and social studies, adapting to each student’s progress.  To supplement this, we utilize Starfall and Khan Academy's engaging video lessons that provide additional support and clarity on challenging concepts. Furthermore, we incorporate Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques, including positive reinforcement, task analysis, and data tracking, to support both academic and behavioral development, ensuring every child is motivated and engaged.

Our co-op fosters a supportive atmosphere by emphasizing peer learning, structured routines, and parental involvement. Peer learning encourages students to collaborate, enhancing engagement and critical thinking skills as they work together to solve problems and share perspectives. Structured routines provide consistency, creating a stable environment where students understand expectations, which supports effective learning and minimizes behavioral issues. Active parental involvement reinforces academic and behavioral goals at home, leading to improved student performance, better social skills, and increased adaptability. By integrating these elements, we create a nurturing environment that promotes holistic development and academic success.

We continuously track academic and behavioral progress to ensure each student reaches their full potential, adjusting the plan as needed.

Student Tiers

Seedling Tier  – Intensive Individualized Support

Students in this group require highly individualized and continuous adult support throughout the day due to significant behavioral, communication, or safety needs. These students benefit from consistent one-on-one engagement to promote regulation, learning, and independence. They may require frequent redirection, immediate intervention strategies, and customized communication supports (e.g., AAC devices, visual systems). The focus is on safety, relationship-building, and tailored intervention across all settings.

Sprout Tier – Targeted Small Group Support

This group includes students who can participate in small group settings but still need a high level of adult guidance and support to be successful. These students benefit from structured routines, targeted behavior supports, and language-rich instruction with consistent adult oversight. While they show emerging independence, they still rely heavily on adults for social, emotional, and academic engagement.

Blossom Tier – Supported Group-Based Learning

Students in this group demonstrate greater independence but continue to require adult support for transitions, behavioral regulation, and social communication in a group-based setting. They benefit from a predictable environment, visual supports, and occasional prompts or assistance. These students are working toward generalizing learned skills across settings with reduced adult proximity.
